Admission process in Medical Colleges of India | NEET-Exam

MBBS admission in India -Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS): The course duration is 5½ years (4½ years of classroom study followed by a year of rotating internship). The 4½ years of class room study is broken into 3 phases of 18 months each. Each phase of 18 months is known as Professional and is further divided into 3 semesters of 6 months each. There is a semester exam at the end of each semester and a Professional exam at the end of each professional. The third professional is devoted to monthly clinical work in the wards and departments of the hospital. In all there are 3 professional examinations, followed by practical and clinical examinations. Pass percentage required is 50 per cent.

Admission process in Medical Colleges of India | NEET-2022

As per the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 as amended in 2018 and the Dentists Act-1948 as amended in 2018, online applications are invited for NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) – 2018 (NEET-UG-2018) to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in India in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry. Admissions to all seats of MBBS/BDS courses will be done through NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG), 2020.

The seats are classified in the following categories:

(i) All India Quota Seats

(ii) State Government Quota Seats

(iii) Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities

(iv) State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical / Dental Colleges or any Private University

(v) Central Pool Quota Seats

NEET 2022 Registration

NEET 2022 Application Form Date (April 2022) : entrance Exam : 17th July 2022

NEET 2022 Registration can be completed online by visiting the official website of NTA NEET i.e. ntaneet.nic.in. NEET 2022 Application Form date is expected in the 3rd week of March. The steps for NEET 2022 Registration are mentioned below:

Step 1: NEET Registration - Visit the official website register online by providing accurate details to generate NEET Registration No. and Password.

Step 2: Filling NEET Application Form - Use your registration and password to login to the official website and enter your personal and academic details, test center as per your preference.

Step 3: Uploading of Documents - Upload passport size photograph, signature, and other documents are per the guidelines of NTA. Check NEET 2022 Document Upload Guidelines

Step 4: Payment of NEET Registration Fees - NEET application fees can be paid online i.e. INR 1500 for GN, INR 1400 for EWS, and INR 800 for other category candidates.

Step 5: Submit NEET Application Form - The last step is to save and submit the application form.

NEET 2022 Form Correction window will also be opened by NTA. During that time candidates will be allowed to edit a few details only.

REQUIREMENT OF AADHAAR NUMBER

For Indian citizens and ordinary residents of India, Aadhaar Number is a requirement to fill up the online application of NEET(UG), in all States except J&K, Assam and Meghalaya.

For NRIs, Aadhaar or Passport Number is required for filling up of the online application of NEET(UG).

For Foreign Nationals, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI’s), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO’s), Passport Number is the mandatory requirement for filling up of the online application of NEET(UG), 2022.

At the time of filling application form NEET(UG), 2022, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth and gender and give their consent to CBSE to validate the information provided by them with the UIDAI’s database. In case, these particulars do not match, the candidate will not be able to fill the application

Doctor Of Medicine (MD):

Doctor Of Medicine or also commonly known as MD is a post-graduate course that is the first choice of all the MBBS students. This course gives you detailed knowledge of the subjects related to the medical field like Anatomy, General Medicine, Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Medical Oncology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology and Gastroenterology etc.

Masters In Surgery (MS):

Masters In Surgery, also commonly known as MS, is another preferred course by most MBBS students. This course gives you detailed knowledge related to surgery. This course is created to give detailed knowledge of surgical skills to the doctors to give them the validity that they can perform the major and minor surgeries on the human body. This course also focuses on giving the experience to the doctors by teaching them and giving them the chance of studying the structure of the human body.

Qualifying NEET-PG entrance exam is mandatory to get direct MD/MS admission to any medical college in India.

There are three rounds for direct admission in MD MS and only two rounds for the people who want to take admission based on merit. The third and the last round of the counselling process is known as the mop-up round. The fee for the MD MS admission through management quota is higher than the process of general counselling.

Eligibility Criteria to Take Admission In MD MS Courses Through Management Quota

A minimum of 50% marks in an MBBS degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Council of India is required.

Aspirants must have completed their compulsory rotatory internship by March 31st of that particular year.

Candidates are required to possess a permanent or provisional license to practice medicine. This registration is supposed to be issued by MCI (Medical Council of India). Original documents must be presented both in the examination and the admission process.

Qualifying the NEET-PG Exam

There is no upper and lower age limit for applying to the NEET-PG entrance examinations. NEET has not mentioned any range of age for a candidate so in that case, any candidate who satisfies the other eligibility norms can apply for the entrance exams.
